A toy show you’ll want to get out of bed for on a Sunday morning
Nostalgia is king at the thirty-fifth annual Miami Antique Toy Show at the Ramada Inn ‘Airport’ at the Palmetto Expressway and 103rd Street exit in Hialeah on Sunday, February 8th.
This phenomenal event highlights the longest continually running and last-remaining purely antique toy, doll and collectibles show in the Southeastern US and brings together dealers from around the US, South America and Europe.
It’s better than looking at a picture, more fun than scanning Ebay and certainly easier than chasing down that rare item to complete your coolection™, which is a term the event producers coined (and trademarked!). It’s a phrase to describe the fruits of your labors, and if your ‘labors’ are amassing a ‘coolection’ this is where you’ll want to be.
Collectors of cool antique toys, dolls, and collectibles, electric trains, board games, action figures, wind-up tin, battery operated, Barbies, baseball cards, boats, comics, Coca Cola, Christmas decorations, lunchboxes, Matchboxes, marbles, play sets, snow globes, Star Wars, Atari, petroliana, Tootsie-toys, fast-food toys, TV tie-ins, license plates, cereal premiums, Art Deco items, Disneyana, neon display signs, cast iron banks, stamps and coins, slot cars, robots, bicycles, pedal cars, A life sized ‘Yoda’ a sealed Eastern Airlines 48 mini bottle liquor kit, Lionel train set and much more await you in a cornucopia of remembrance.
General admission to the Miami Antique Toy Show is seven dollars (Twelve and under get in for five dollars, and fives and under are free.) Call Steve or Tom at 305 446 4488 or send an e-mail to miamiantiquetoyshow@yahoo.com for a promotional postcard/discount coupon or two.
The show starts right at 10 a.m. and continues to 4 p.m. All the dealers will begin setting up at about 7a.m., and early ‘Floor Rights’ passes are available for thirty dollars, allowing diehard collectors access to the dealers’ goods from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Whether you’re an ‘Early Bird’ or not, the show will be the best chance to get a dose of toy reality and see, touch, talk about, argue and haggle over antique toys, dolls and collectibles anywhere in the southern US in 2015.
