Mark Friedman began his musical journey at an early age. He has a pedigree musical history and is the grandson of the Musical Director for legendary entertainer Milton Berle. With a Masters in music from U of Miami, he has been a musician and musical director for acts such as Paul Anka, Dick Clark, Bob Hope, Della Reese, Little Anthony, the legendary Platters and many more. We’ll hear why they call him ‘Mongo’ and get the back story on the hit makers he has worked with like Wayne Cochran & the C.C. Riders, The Rhodes Brothers, Leslie Gore, Lou Christie, Bobby Rydell, The Osmond Brothers, Billy Joe Royal, The Trammps and Musique. Mongo is currently on tour with Little Anthony. We’ll go behind the scenes for stories about the many national acts he has worked with.

Ray started his drumming life on an empty Quaker Oatmeal box and 2 pencils. He’s teaching, performing and recording with Iko Iko, Hall of Fame Inductee Joey Gilmore and the TCB Express. Jazz HOF inductee Mo Morgan, recording artists patty Russo and the National Treasure Band. Ray created a drum program for the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame and is active with the South Florida Center for Percussive Arts which brings performance and other musical arts to local schools and community events.
Currently playing with Fusion Jazz Group, Night Moves Project, Blues artists Midnite Johnny, Nigel Mack, American folk artist Michael Weiskopf, Jazz artist Amy Arlo, Jazz duo Tedd McDermontt and Loye Hawkins, Acoustic group Wagner Hand and Pflug, the Derelict Daughters and educator/clinician/pianist Mari Bell’s Jazz Quartet.
