After joining the Musicians Union at age 12, Joe spent a lonely listless youth hanging out with other lonely listless youths in a quest for who knows what. But he practiced! Joe arrived in Miami on New Year’s Day, 1970. In the ensuing years he received a B.A. in music from the University of Miami an M.A. in jazz performance and captured our hearts as a one of a kind performer and humanitarian.
He has jammed or played with greats like Dizzy Gillespie, Art Blakey, Carmen McRae, Nina Simone, Jack Jones, and Arturo Sandoval and will find himself across the mic from a comedian with a cult following so small, they can fit in a phone booth if anyone knows what that is.
