The Republican National Committee has started foaming at the mouth about Hillary Clinton (“No, I’m not running yet”) and a TV program about her life and career.
Filling in the cracks with news to keep on top of the public awareness, it has traveled to the extreme right and jumped off the bridge of sanity.
In letters to CNN and NBC, the chairman of the RNC Reince Priebus, (Who, according to the Microsoft Spelling and Grammar program should have been ‘reined priests’) threatened to bar both the networks from any 2016 presidential debates if they move ahead with plans to air special programs devoted to Hillary Clinton’s career.
They did and he did.
The letter, in part said, “How can you exercise your freedom of the press without consent from us?”
“That’s not a threat, that’s a pleasure” said a network spokesperson. “Their debates will probably be replaced with a superior presentation such as re-runs of The Jerry Springer Show. It’s got higher ratings.”
Priebus said the Clinton program is a “thinly veiled attempt at putting a thumb on the scales of the 2016 presidential election.” (As opposed to an unveiled attempt by the RNC at subverting the First Amendment to the Constitution)
Please! Carry out the threat. The circus parading as ‘Republican debates’ in the last political cycle was an almost never ending series of wannabe leaders taking potshots at each other. The barbs were flung with the gusto of testing spaghetti by throwing it against the wall.
Let’s see; where are the debaters now?
Governor Rick Perry of Texas promised to have an inmate executed if he was asked another question he could not answer and the rest have alienated much of the country with their extreme views on education, women’s rights, immigration and more.
To achieve better ratings the RNC was in negotiation with the reality show ‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’ to have at least one member of the family participate in each debate.
“We feel Mama June could have a positive effect on the rest of the panel with her honesty and her campaign against bullying” said a spokesperson.
“Personally, I’d like to see her take on the three lowest poll rated participants in a no holds barred Sumo wrestling match.”
