The Miami Marlins are breaching the surface this new baseball season with a plea to musicians. Organists, in particular. They’re looking for someone who can play the traditional baseball anthems that fill in between the innings and for when the team needs a boost. They need some fan appreciation. But before that happens there are some songs that should be on the ‘must be able to play’ list.
That’s right; “I’m Sorry’ by Brenda Lee made the top of their list for prospective applicants. Here are some others: When Will I See You Smile Again by Bell Biv DeVoe Never Let U Go by Absolute Stay by Jodeci Sorry 4 2004 by Ruben Studdard I Want You Back by the Jackson 5 Soon As I Get Home by Faith Evans Before You Walk out of My Life by Monica Need U Bad by Jazmine Sullivan Never Should’ve Let You Go by Hi-Five Hard To Say I’m Sorry by AZ Yet Hard to Say I’m Sorry by Chicago
It’s going to be a difficult season whatever success the team has because, in the back of your mind, you’ll never forget how they ‘schtupped’ us all for the almighty dollar.
Additionally: The new organist cannot play any song that has ever been played in Cuba, can’t have the word ‘Cuba’ in the title, can’t play anything that ‘Castro’ or his brother like, cannot eat a ‘Cuban sandwich’ while playing or even on his lunch break, cannot do any songs that were ever sung by Desi Arnaz, and must not ever mention Ozzie Guillen’s name or even refer to ‘The previous manager’.
That’s about it, have a good try-out!
