The sharply divided US Congress came together on one thing at least – that the word “lunatic” should be banned. Not from the English language, but from its usage in any federal legislation.
“It’s hitting a little close to home” an overwhelming number of members of Congress said. They distanced them-selves from the vote by issuing the statement from a post office box in Washington D.C.
“Lately some of the positions taken by House members have been a little to the right of Michelle Bachmann which is really hard to do. Then and only then could the word apply, so we’re banning the word”: They also banned ‘Hare-brained, foolish, mad, crazy outrageous and ca-ca.
They voted 398-1 with only one member voting for the use of the word but only in legislation that promotes small blood sucking creatures from the Lunar surface.
In other news West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin has asked MTV to cancel Buckwild, its upcoming reality show. He feels it shows young people in his state engaging in “shameful behavior.”
Manchin said the show is “repulsive” and spreads “ugly, inaccurate stereotypes” about West Virginia. The Senator also claimed that Buckwild will profit “off the poor decisions of our youth.” Making his own poor decision, he then went on to vote to ban the words ‘Buckwild’ and ‘MTV’ from any and all legislation pertaining to the State.
The bills will now go to President Obama for his signature.
