‘On the Record and Off the wall’ a joltradio.org deep background interview show, welcomes a true civil rights pioneer Ed Dubinsky. Monday Jan. 7th 10AM. We are very proud to welcome Ed Dubinsky B.S.; M.A.; and PHD to the show. Ed was a tenured professor and visiting professor in the fields of mathematics and computer science.
His appearance on our show will provide this insider’s look into some of the history of one of the greatest political and humanist movements of the 20th century.
An organizer in the civil rights movement since the late 1950’s Ed worked in the Viet Nam anti-war movement, aiding political prisoners in US jails and supporting the struggle of American Indians in their sovereignty fight.
Professor Dubinsky has had as an influence, people such as Stokely Charmichael, an activist who led the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee and H. Rap Brown (the fifth chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee in the 1960s,) Brown is perhaps most famous for his proclamations during that period that “violence is as American as cherry pie” and that “If America don’t come around, we’re gonna burn it down.” He is also known for his autobiography, Die Nigger Die!

Coming up on Jan 21st in the studio is ‘Twisted Coyote’ an eclectic band with members Williee Armellini and Ernie Garza, who perform original material with classic rock and pop thrown in.
In the studio as well is Michael Weiskopf, a singer/songwriter makes an appearance in the studio to promo his Feb 7th appearance at the Open Stage Club in Coral Gables. Miami singer/songwriter Steve Bass will open the show. In addition to his solo work, Michael is the lead singer of The Complete Unknowns, a band that celebrates the catalog of Bob Dylan.
