Barry Weinberg: Major League Baseball Trainer, Author of ‘Eating My Way Through Baseball’

Barry Weinberg, a major league baseball trainer for over 40 years gives us the back story of dining all over the country with sports figures and movie stars and will relate the craziest stories from the dugout to the locker-room. As Athletic Trainer for New York Yankees, Oakland A’s, and St. Louis Cardinals he has met, befriended and dined with the most amazing people.

Barry’s book published in 2019 is an Indie Book Awards finalist which is an international literary award recognizing independent authors.

It was also a finalist for Best book at the American Book Fest

Barry, a motivational speaker as well, grew up in Silver Spring Maryland and his life changed when Frank Howard moved in across the street. Frank was an All-American in basketball at Ohio State but was drafted by the Philadelphia Warriors of the NBA. He instead signed with the Dodgers organization, and he succeeded Carl Furillo as Los Angeles’ right fielder in 1960. Barry’s friends used to play Wiffle ball in the street with him. Frank took Barry to the ballpark early so he could witness batting practice and Barry would drive him home.  He was named the NL’s 1960 Rookie of the Year.

“An evening with Barry means great food and some great stories. Unfortunately, the book only has the great stories” Sandy Koufax

“Barry is a great friend. His walk through baseball has been amazing and I’m blessed to have traveled a small part with him.

The book is a must read.” Charles Barkley

“Barry is one of the finest, most interesting guys I know and I’m grateful for the friendship we share.” Joe Namath

Any fan of food, baseball and the life of a guy whose decisions on the Major League field helped win 3 World Series is a ‘must read’

From the minors to the Majors, whether a fringe player or a multi-million dollar star, Barry was charged with keeping them healthy and ready to compete. No small task when games and league standing are on the line!

We’ll go behind the plate…..way behind into the dugout and training room to hear stories that will amaze!
